Patch Notes: v. 0.16.3 24/08/2016

 

In this version of the game the main thing that has changed have been visual/graphical. The camera effects along with the objects in the scene of the main menu have been changed to be more dense and colourful.

​

In the main game, the pause menu now has a blurred background. The grass texture on the ground has been changed and physical grass has been added near the lake, dog park and various other areas. A slight palette change for the colour of the lake has changed as well.

In this patch the environment was mostly affected. A lake was added in the middle area behind all the houses. Ambience for the world and the cars was also added in this patch.

In this version, the game becomes a little more lively with the addition of cars! Cars are now driving around the neighbourhood along with being parked on the side of the road and in various carports on residential lots.

​

A few bugs were handled such as; NPC dogs sliding around when bumped into and falling out of the world through the ground.

In this patch some of the walking NPCs were removed and the remaining NPCs had their paths changed so they no longer walk on the roads.

​

Mr Puddams was removed and replaced with "Ms Puddams".

Walking NPCs were added in this update along with a few more bones.

In this update I finally finished building the whole environment with all the houses, trees, roads and mailboxes. I increased the size of the yellow ball in the dog park and I changed all the high-poly trees into low-poly trees to help with optimizing performance.

This update is UI and bug based. All the buttons on the pause menu and main menu were changed to bones rather than regular squares. Also the font on the UIs were changed to "Wellfleet" a free-to-use font from 1001fonts.

Also a bug was fixed in which falling out of the world and hitting the boundary collider acted the same way as a bone.

In this version more houses and bones were added raising the total bone count to 24. Also when a bone is collected it now makes a crunch sound. A congratulations menu was added for when all the bones on the map are collected.

In this update the function of bone count and bone collection was fixed and now works properly and a UI for the bone count/bone collection was added.

In this version more houses, roads and street signs were added and the dog in the dog park is now animated.

In this update more houses, roads and street signs were added. A dog park with one dog and a ball was also added. The resume button in the pause menu now works properly.

In this version the grass has a texture now, all the houses have mailboxes in front of them now. The game now has a pause menu that can quit the game.

Now there are bones, fire hydrants and mailboxes and the grass has been changed back to a texture.

The game is now in solid colours and trees, houses and the antagonist "Mr Puddams" were added.

In this version it's time to start building the scene and playing with textures. I placed some cubes as test buildings and a road.

This update featured basic bug fixes such as changing the sound on and off button into a simple toggle and fixed the idle animation not working. Also a walking animation while turning was added.

This is the first documented version of the game. In this version there is Rex, a cube and a green plane. Rex can move and there is a toggle for running and walking.

This update fixed two major bugs. Some other things that were added were flower textures on the ground for some lovely detail along with fences around the houses and names on the letterboxes of important characters.

In this small update, all the houses now have fences around them and 3 new types of dogs were added such as; Siberian Husky, Pomeranian and Smooth Fox Terrier.

Here's the version now released to the public, minor changes were made, just touching up on some final details before release.
